Colourist cum filmmaker Shiva Kumar BVR is on cloud nine! His 15-minute film, ‘The School’ (Gurukulam) is the recipient of the ‘Best Short Film Award’ at the recently-concluded ‘Indywood Film Carnival’.
This is Kumar’s directorial debut. Previously he worked for about 1,000 films as an optical artist. This includes names like ‘Baahubali’, ‘Eega’ and ‘Magadheera’ to name a few. Kumar, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, said, “First, we locked the script and then created complete storyboard before going for shoot in March 2015.”The crew completed the shoot in only a month.Kumar hopes to take the film to a wider audience. “I want to spread awareness, especially among parents, who sometimes fail to recognise inherent talents of their children,” he said.
