‘Porous Eart - The Journey of a River, a thematic solo dance was performed by Kiranmayee Madupu recently at Hotel Minerva Grand, Kondapur. The solo recital was based on an English poem written by Tejdeep Kaur Menon, a Senior IPS officer.

It was organised by Hyderabad Arts Festival, the India’s longest performing Arts Festival. This three month long non-ticked festival conceptualised to celebrate the spirit of Hyderabad. This festival comes to end on July 22nd with a flute recital by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.

The production was choreographed by Guru Hemamalini Arni. 500 art lovers witnessed the presentation. ‘Porous Earth’ was the journey of a river portrayed through contemporary Bharatanatyam.

The river originates from the mountains and encounters mankind, various flora and fauna, pollutants and social evils and finally merges to be one with the sea.
