Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC), Hyderabad and Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), Mumbai jointly organised a two-day training workshop for the paramedical staff and certifying surgeons of DAE Units at Gurukul, NFC over the weekend.

Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC), Hyderabad and Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), Mumbai jointly organised a two-day training workshop for the paramedical staff and certifying surgeons of DAE Units at Gurukul, NFC over the weekend.

The theme of the workshop was "Emergency management of the cases of drowning, burn injuries, salvaging amputated parts, fall from heights, anaphylaxisil shock, eye injuries and radiation injuries management.”

About 28 Certifying Surgeons and 30 Paramedical Staff from all the units participated. Eminent faculty from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Hospital-Mumbai, Osmania Medical College, Sarojini Devi Eye Institute, National Institute of Nutrition, NIMS, Care and Kamineni delivered lectures to the participants.

Three scientific sessions and one technical panel was conducted by faculty from St. John's Ambulance Association, Hyderabad. In addition, hands-on training on life saving methods were practically shown to the participants.

The event was inaugurated by DK Shukla, Executive Director, AERB, Mumbai in which G Kalyanakrishnan, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC; Dr PTV Nair, Chairman-ACOH;VV Pande, Head-IPSD-AERB;SR Bhave, Member-Secretary-ACOH; Dr RP Acharya, DCE(A)-NFC; Dr J Vijay Rao, CMS and Dr D Sangeetha Sharma, CMS, NFC were present.
