The eighth season of the signature art series ‘Colours of Novotel’ was inaugurated at Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre on Sunday. Curated by artist Rangoli Garg, the exhibition unveiled 36 art pieces, three each from the 12 artists, who participated, on the theme ‘Art for Every Wall.’

The inauguration saw the presence of artists including Agacharya, Raghu Akula, Jyotirmaya Pattnayak, Iruvan Karunakaran, Vasanthula Ramakrishna, Pranati Khanna, Sonam Khan, Rangoli Garg, Bala Bhaktha Raju, Satheesh Kanna, Thota Laxminarayana and Lona Logan.

The collection was commissioned to connect the hotel to the region’s vibrant art and cultural heritage. The emphasis of the season eight of ‘Colours of Novotel’ is on affordable art. All the participating artists will be putting up their works themed around women and fauna – all priced below Rs 20,000.

Providing a renewed perspective on contemporary Indian Art, the paintings aesthetically adorn the corridor walls of the popular European sidewalk deli – Le Café, giving artists a platform to showcase their artworks in a hotel that sees a significant inflow of MICE and corporate delegates owing to its location.

Neil Paterson, General Manager, Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and HICC said, “Adhering to our tradition of promoting art and culture, we are confident that this season’s collection will provide new insights and perspectives on modern day art.

By bringing the focus to affordable art, we are intending to make the medium more accessible to connoisseurs and bring it to more walls, reaffirming our commitment to furthering arts in our society.”‘Colours of Novotel’ is scheduled to continue until the end of December. The artworks of the exhibiting artists will also be for sale.
