LB Nagar: The residents of new Nagole have been living in the stink of a cattle farm located in the heart of their residential area for more than eight years now. In addition, maintenance activities at the farm are conducted before sunrise, disturbing the peace of the area.

There are about 80 buffaloes on the farm, who roam the area openly. They contaminate the groundwater with their residues. Not only this, the owner leaves all the waste items of the farm in the open

Rakesh, a private sector employee complained, “Every morning a big truck comes around 3:30am with the fodder of the cattle and to pick up their dung. This disturbs the sleep of the people. We tried talking to the owner, who said that the confined area belongs to him and he has the freedom to do anything he wants.”

There are about 80 buffaloes on the farm, who roam the area openly. “We are scared to send our children out of the houses. The dung of these buffaloes is not even picked up; this causes a lot of nuisance and mosquito menace is rampant because of this,” cried Priya, a homemaker.

Meanwhile, the buffaloes when left in the open tend to contaminate the groundwater through their residues. Not only this, all the waste items of the farm are left in the open by the owner, Yadav, which makes it difficult for people to breathe, inform locals.
When contacted, Ramakrishna Rao, a doctor from Vetenary department of GHMC said, “I will personally look into the matter and ensure that the problem is fixed as soon as possible.” The owner of the farm was unavailable for comment.
