Rajendra K Srivastava, Dean of the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, conferred engineering degrees to 67 Technical Student Officers at the 92nd Convocation Ceremony hosted by the College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), here on Friday. 

Secunderabad: Rajendra K Srivastava, Dean of the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, conferred engineering degrees to 67 Technical Student Officers at the 92nd Convocation Ceremony hosted by the College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), here on Friday.

Amidst thunderous applause, officers of the Technical Entry Scheme Course and Degree Engineering including those from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) also received special awards for their outstanding performances in both academics and extracurricular activities.

While Capt B Santosh and Lt Rohit Sharma clinched the DGEME and GOC-in-C ARTRAC Trophies for their overall achievements in their respective courses, Lt Ameen Shah along with Capt Omprakash Singh and Capt Abhishek won the Best Project award in the Degree Engineering course for designing a 3 Axis Drilling Machine.

Another project titled “Cell Phone Controlled Home Appliances Switching By PIC Microcontroller” fabricated by Lt Vipul Mamgain, Lt Avnish Singh, Lt Athul Ashok Kumar A and Lt Ankush Thakur of the Technical Entry Scheme Course was appreciated by one and all.

Rajendra K Srivastava who was highly impressed with the quality of student projects that were put on display in the gallery, complimented the college for the incredible training it provided.

Speaking on the occasion Rajendra Srivastava said, “Armed forces and technology have been strategic partners in developing and enhancing defence capability of the nation. It is an accepted fact that, the armed forces need to operate at a higher technological level than the rest of the country to have an advantage over the adversary.”

Madhavi Singh, the only woman Technical Student Officer to graduate this year said that the training period would remain memorable to her for life.
