MLC rewards youth for scaling glacier

Shapurnagar: Member of the State Legislative Council Sambipur Raju on Monday handed over Rs 20,000 to Ramesh of New Lalbahadurnagar for scaling the 16,414 ft Meera Thong Glacier in August 2017 as a representative of NIMAS.

Raju expressed happiness over the youngster’s bold action, while handing over the cash reward. He impressed upon the youth that he should take up more such adventures for bringing laurels to the State/country. Ramesh told the MLC that he would try to scale Pahalgam and Kolahoi Glaciers in Himachal Pradesh as a representative of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute. Among those present were coroprators Mantri Satyanarayana and Jagan, Bhaskar, Yella Reddy.
