Kacheguda: Robbers struck at the Hyderabad-bound Chennai Express during the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday, after tampering the signal system and stopping the train.
They snatched valuables from passengers near Vanganur, after attacking them with stones. Among them was Manjula of Dilsukhnagar, who was relieved of jewellery weighing five tolas. The Government Railway Police fired two rounds, following which two robbers managed to escape. The victims lodged a complaint with the Kacheguda police. The police said on Thursday that the case would be transferred to Gutti in Anantapur district.
