Khammam: The Khammam-II Town police nabbed a notorious chain snatcher and recovered 67.5 tolas of gold from him. They also seized two motorcycles and an Innova Car here at Raparthy Centre of Khammam on Thursday.

According to the Divisional Superintendent of Police, Suresh Kumar, when the police officials were conducting a regular vehicle check in early hours on Thursday at Raparthy centre, they nabbed a suspected person who was on the motorbike, which was stolen at Sardar Patel Stadium.

After inquiry, the accused was identified as Bukya Veeru (26), resident of Balajithanda of Siripuram village of Garla mandal. He was involved in various theft cases in and around Khammam town in the last two months along with Malothu Suresh, who died in an accident which took place recently.

Police registered a case against Veeru and further probe is on. The Divisional Superintendent of Police appreciated the police team which nabbed Veeru. The team included SI Omkar, Head Constable Hanumanth Rao and Constables Ramulu, S K Ameer, Srinu, and Nannemiya.
