Khammam: The students of Social Welfare Hostel (Boys) of NSP Camp staged a dharna in front of the hostel for not implementing the menu properly here in Khammam on Monday.

The representatives of student organisations All India Students Federation (AISF), Students Federation of India (SFI) and Peoples Democratic Students Union (PDSU), extending their support to the students, alleged that the government was behaving negligently in solving the issues of students studying in welfare hostels.

District secretary of AISF Jagarlamudi Ranjith Kumar said even after several appeals made by the students to officials to change the menu and provide safe drinking water, the officials are not showing any interest and are continuing with the same menu every day forcing the students to eat same kind of food every day.

District president of SFI Naga Raju alleged that the workers of the hostels were coming to drunk and were misbehaving with students.

He demanded the officials to take immediate actions against such workers and maintain healthy atmosphere in the hostel apart from changing the menu.

Superintendent of the Social Welfare department Masood Ali assured the leaders of the student organisations of taking necessary steps to solve the problems.

District President of PDSU Manda Suresh, representatives of student organisations Pagidipalli Ashok, Ramesh Azad, Santhosh, Narasimha Rao and Murali were present along with others.
