Valigonda: Two persons climbed a cell tower in Duppalli of Valigonda mandal on allegations of harassment and caste expulsion by fellow caste people and some villagers.

According to victims Arruri Yadaiah and Sandla Yadaiah of Duppali, six months ago during the Government Primary School Committee Chairman elections, the duo supported a candidate of other cast.

Since then, the rival candidate, who is of the same caste of victims, started treating them as enemies and with the support of some local leaders and caste people he has been troubling the duo.

Using his influence, he made sure that the duo would not be invited to any occasion by their caste people.
Feeling very embarrassed, the duo approached the police and revenue officials for justice.

However, no one helped them for the past few months. Irked over the official apathy, the duo on Friday climbed the cell tower in the village.

Athmakur (M) SI Shiva Naga Durga Prasad, who rushed to the spot after learning about the incident, discussed the matter with them and coaxed to get down the tower.

After they get down, the police immediately arrested the duo and took them to police station for counseling. The police also registered cases against them on charges of attempt to suicide.

Speaking to media, the duo informed that their villagers including former Sarpanch Beesu Venkatiah Goud, Nalla Srihari, Nalla Jahangir, D Papaiah, Sandla Srinu and others have been harassing and ill-treating them.

They demanded justice by taking action against the said villagers.
