Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar directed the officials to take proper steps for preventing water scarcity in villages keeping in view of severe heat conditions in summer.

The Collector chaired a meeting with officials here at CEO Chamber in Zilla Parishad office in Khammam on Monday. Speaking in the meeting, the Collector ordered the officials to be alert and take steps to provide water to even remote areas of the district.

“Take steps for completing 339 habitation works under Mission Bhagiratha within prescribed time limit apart from laying pipelines and construction of over head tanks in villages,” ordered the Collector.

He asked the officials of Rural Water Supply department to establish a control room for solving drinking water problems immediately and suggested them to take alternate steps for preventing further problems if any arise.

The Collector urged people to call on 08742-244165 if facing problems of drinking water and ordered the officials to respond to calls and solve the issues immediately.

Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Marapaka Nagesh, Superintending Engineer of RWS department Srinivas Rao, Project Director of District Rural Development Agency Muralidhar Rao and other officials were present.
