People told to keep hydrated as Khammam temperatures cross 46 degrees Celsius

In view of Khammam touching 46 degrees Celsius and further increase in temperatures predicted by Met department in the coming days, District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar appealed to people to keep themselves hydrated by consuming plenty of water and fruit juices to protect from sunstroke and heatstroke. 

Khammam: In view of Khammam touching 46 degrees Celsius and further increase in temperatures predicted by Met department in the coming days, District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar appealed to people to keep themselves hydrated by consuming plenty of water and fruit juices to protect from sunstroke and heatstroke.

He further urged them to take certain precautionary steps like carrying umbrella, wearing goggles, caps, clothes in white when venturing out.

If persons are affected with sunstroke or heatstroke, they must be shifted to cool place immediately and their body must be wiped with a wet cloth until the body temperature gets normal.

And if any one complains of illness, they must be shifted to nearby hospital immediately for proper treatment, suggested the Collector.

He asked the people to restrain themselves from eating sweets and foods that are cooked in lot of oil and not to allow their children to play outside from morning 10 to evening 5.

Meanwhile with day temperatures becoming unbearable, many are forced to remain indoors.
