IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao on Thursday inaugurated the KIMS super specialty hospital in the city and said that Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy started the hospital to save poor from visiting hospitals in Hyderabad and Vijayawada even for minor ailments.

While KTR cut the ribbon marking the inauguration of the hospital, Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy lighted the ceremonial lamp. Tummala Nageswara Rao inaugurated the Cath Lab, while Palla Rajeswara Reddy inaugurated casualty ward.

Puvvada Ajay Kumar (MLA) inaugurated operation theatre and MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana inaugurated the CT-Scan machine.

Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said that the hospital was set up to provide better treatment to the poor and wished the hospital achieve progress with each passing day extending quality medicare to the poor and middle classes.

Hospital founder Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said pained at people not accessing services of many specialist doctor services housed services of 12 medical departments under one roof compared to medical and health services available in Hyderabad.

The hospital maintains stock of stents needed by cardiac patients. Mahabubabad MP Azmeera Sitaram Naik, MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar, MLC Palla Rajeswar Reddy, SC Corporation Chairman Pidamarti Ravi and others were present on the occasion.

In all, 500 supporters of MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy took out a motorcycle rally from the MP’s camp office in the city to the venue of KTR’s public meeting, Sardar Patel Stadium.
