Nalgonda: Tension prevailed on the premises of Nalgonda court on Thursday when a woman climbed an under construction building and threatened to commit suicide by jumping from there.

According to Nalgonda One Town police, the woman, Kanneboina Laxmi, a native of Mattampalli, alleged that she was being harassed by Huzurnagar Bench clerk Goverdhan, who was transferred to Nalgonda court recently. Seeking justice, she climbed the building and threatened to take her life.

Upon receiving information, police rushed to the spot and tried their best to convince her but in vain. However, District Principle Judge Tirumal Rao, who arrived at the spot, assured her all help, after which she came down.

Speaking to newspersons, Laxmi informed that her relatives had encroached upon half acre of land which was gifted to her by her parents and the issue was pending in Huzoornagar court.

She alleged that Goverdhan took Rs 2,000 for each hearing and in total collected a bribe of Rs 40,000 and betrayed her. She also alleged that Goverdhan misbehaved with her taking the advantage of her poor financial status.

She informed that she had earlier lodged complaint with Suryapet district officials on the Grievance Day and also attempted suicide with pesticide bottle. But respective officials did not take any action, she claimed.

Vexed with official apathy, she climbed the building to end her life. Meanwhile, based on the complaint of Administrative Officer of the district court, the One Town Police registered a case against Laxmi. However, after counseling she was released.
