Khammam: Telangana Union of Working Journalist (TUWJ-IJU) vice-president Kattekola Ramnarayana here on Thursday demanded that the government provide job security for the journalists.

The representatives of the TUWJ paid floral tributes to the portrait of the journalist Hanumanth Rao who committed suicide along with his two children due to financial crisis.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramnarayana alleged that the governments were not paying attention to the welfare of the journalists. He demanded that the government provide job security for the journalists.

He regretted that Hanumanth Rao, resident of the Kondapaka mandal in Siddipet district, who works for a Telugu news daily, committed suicide along with his two children due to financial crisis. The government should pay attentions to the problems being faced by journalists to ensure that such incident does not happen.

Representatives of the TUWJ A Venkateshwar Rao, T Murali Krishna, V Madhava Rao, Janardhana Chary, Srinivas, M Venu Gopal, V Venkateshwarlu, Mohinuddin, M Papa Rao, Appa Rao, Ram Babu, Sridhar, Pasha, Srinivas Reddy, Ashok and Uday were present at the programme.
