Chandrababu Naidu lays foundation stone for Icon Tower

Rayapudi (Amaravati):State government will support to establish the industries for Non Resident Telugu community, promised Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu after laying foundation stone for historic NRT iCON Tower here on Friday. He further encouraged the NRTs to promote their business not only in Andhra Pradesh but also in the abroad, while addressing the gathering in a public meeting on this occasion.

There about nearly one thousand NRT delegates attended for the foundation stone ceremony, organized by the Non Resident Telugu Society. This iCON tower will gave 33 floors, 11 lakh SFT with an estimated cost of Rs 500 crores.

This will facilitate to more than 100 companies and provide more than 5,000 direct employment and nearly 20,000 indirect employment.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that mother land Andhra Pradesh gave NRTs an opportunity to serve the world.

He said that the most skilled people migrated to the world and hence the locals in the abroad worrying about this. At this juncture he informed them to take the Jewish as inspiration in development and skills.

Chief Minister suggested them to actively participate in the politics and social activities in the world, wherever they are working.

He said that he gave priority to the Information Technology when he became Chief Minister for the first time. He explained that he sowed seeds of IT, increased the number of Engineering Colleges, constructed Cyberabad constructed and created good ecosystem in Hyderabad. That vision changed the entire Telugu community.

Now he explained that he focused on Amaravati and he would ensure that it would be one among top five cities in the world.

The NRT entrepreneurs are representing from 120 countries, here in the State, Chandrababu Naidu informed.

Telugus are top in earning at Silicon for that I feel very proud.

“Once I made Hyderabad as centre of attraction and now we are building Amaravati as attracting to make AP as Innovation Valley.”It will possible. From last four years, we gave priority to knowledge economy, he added. Our state is going to be the best knowledge state.

At every country, there must be our Telugu flag.

Chief Minister inspired the NRTs by saying that there must be our Telugu flag at every country wherever they work. For that we put the revolving glob in the NRI iCON tower, he said.

Singapore country prepared Detailed Project Report for Amaravati, without taking single rupee. 

Land Pooling Scheme introduced by convincing the farmers. They believed my words and gave 33,000 acrs of land, without second thought. If they did not give the land then we could not sit here, he said. This land would cost around Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 crores. We are investing thousands of crores to build social infrastructure.

One digital literate must be there at every house in the state, he stressed. Everyone should emerge as entrepreneur.

NRT society is established for the welfare of NRTs and more than 80,000 enumerated. If you encounter any problem, you could not solve it as individual. There must be support from government.

You should be in a position to establish entrepreneurships in Amaravati and also in abroad.

Suggested to organize one more meeting with the NRT officials. Utilise the IT knowledge for development of business. It is all depends on your ability and leadership qualities.

Asked the NRTs to come with innovative ideas.

We are going for Zero Budget Natural Farming. UNDP and WHO and others are associating with us on it.  Traceability of food will be facilitated in Andhra Pradesh.

Ground Water, Rainfall, Weather forecast, temperature, hailstorms and thunderbolts are being monitored on real time basis.

Government has been using the technology in Welfare programmes, citizen services and development activities.

Singapore was a fishermen village once, but now it became leader in the world, like that our AP should emerge, he hoped.  You should lead for Telugus development and pride.

Minister for NRT and Youth Kollu Ravindra said that 66 companies already approached the NRT and started functioning.
