Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar instructed Chief Secretary SK Joshi to release water from Left canal of Nagarjuna Sagar to save the crops in lakh acres in Khammam District.

The Chief Minister has taken decision on the request of Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeriah. Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeriah met the Chief Minister at Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday. He informed the Chief Minister that in Sattupally, Khammam, Paleru, Wyra and Madhira constituencies lakh acres of land is under cultivation.

The water is required for these crops and requested CM to release water for 10 days from Nagarjuna Sagar Left canal and save the crops. He submitted representation to the Chief Minister and the latter positively responded and instructed for release of water.
