“It was a breakthrough product when it was launched, and even today as you have easy access to entertainment while travelling. We have provided this service to several naval ships and are looking forward to introducing it in a big way in flights,” Dish TV CMD Jawahar Goel told The Hindu over phone. Mr. Goel said they had so far installed approximately 500 mobile DishTV connections on Coast Guard Ships like ICGS Sangram and ICGS Varuna, naval ships, commercial ships, merchant navy, and luxury yachts and cruises. At present, live TV is provided in luxury train coaches such as Maharaja Express, Palace on Wheels, Rajasthan Royals, and VIP saloons.

The facility has been provided in over 200 luxury buses. Over 500 connections have been provided in SUVs and vanity vans. ‘Dish on Wheels’ provides live streaming of television content in a moving vehicle and satellite search and recognition based on GPS. It is one-of-its-kind SR 1000 antennas which enables buffer-less TV viewing.
