Guwahati:Renowned Assamese writer and former President of Axom Sahitya Sabha Mahim Bora was passed away at a private hospital in Guwahati on Friday morning. 93-year old Bora was admitted at GNRC hospital in the city on August 3 for his cardiac problems.

The Sahitya Akademy awardee writer Mahim Bora was born in 1924.

Rangajivya (The Red Dragon Fly), Adhani Mahir Hahi, Kathonibarir Ghat are among the creations of Mahim Bora.

He was awarded Padma Shri in 2011.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal gave his last respect to the renowned writer and said that it is a big lost for the state.
