Jagan seeks support of Centre, Oppn
YSRCP president and Leader of Opposition, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy stepped up his ‘Save Democracy’ campaign on the second day of his stay at New Delhi by meeting the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav and SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav by complaining against TDP\'s unconstitutional defection encouraging policy.
New Delhi: YSRCP president and Leader of Opposition, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy stepped up his ‘Save Democracy’ campaign on the second day of his stay at New Delhi by meeting the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav and SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav by complaining against TDP's unconstitutional defection encouraging policy.
He urged the Centre and the Opposition leaders on Friday to work for strengthening the anti-defection law in the country to prevent the defections. In his memorandum to Jaitley, Jagan said that four MLAs of his party had been inducted by N Chandrababu Naidu into his Cabinet.
Petitions requesting for their disqualification along with 16 others, who defected, were pending with the Speaker of the Assembly and that their names still continued under the YSRCP list in the Assembly web site.Huge corruption was the hallmark of the TDP rule and the ruling party leaders were amassing illegal money through irrigation contracts, power projects and coal purchases and real estate. Naidu was using such unaccounted money for buying MLAs from the Opposition and was caught on camera trying to lure an MLA in Telangana in his vote for note case.
The recent CAG report had confirmed YSRCP allegations, he said. Referring to AgriGold issue, he urged the Finance Minister to get CBI investigation ordered under judicial supervision to avert state interference, So that many more benami assets of the company are unearthed, and to facilitate the depositors get back their hard-earned money.

In his meetings with the others including CPM’s Sitaram Yechury and CPI’s Sudhakar Reddy, Jagan drew their attention to the defections and sought their cooperation in applying pressure on the NDA to stop such unconstitutional acts.
