New Delhi: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti made best use of the opportunity presented to it in Parliament here on Friday during the debate on the no-trust motion of the Telugu Desam Party.

Highlighting the non-seriousness of 'other parties' in the House in discussing the subject matter of the no-trust move, TRS MP B Vinod Kumar urged the Centre to amend the AP Reorganization Act, 2014 to re-merge the seven mandals of Khammam district with Telangana to undo the injustice done to the latter by the BJP-led NDA government and the TDP.

Presenting a crisp and neat case of Telangana, the TRS member questioned the reluctance of the Union Finance Minister in releasing funds and grants announced by bodies like Niti Aayog for the development works in the state. The seven mandals handed over to AP were crucial for Telangana as its first-ever hydel project, Sileru, was also denied to Telangana. That was a violation of the provisions of the AP Reorganization Act, 2014 (Sec 92).

Telangana was also due a national project according to the Act but had been denied the same. Promises of a tribal university, steel factory at Bayyaram, Railway Coach Factory at Kazipet and funds for Mission Bhagiratha and for water bodies were all pending, Vinod said, urging the Prime Minister to speak out on these promises.

Wondering how AP could construct its Assembly and Secretariat so fast and within months but could not construct a new building for its High Court, he accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of ill-motives and ill-intentions.

He also took the opportunity to blame the Congress for promising SCS to AP "if it comes back to power" in 2019 by asking it to clarify whether it meant tax incentives or not and also whether Telangana would also be promised the same.

Earlier during the speech of TDP MP Galla Jayadev, who spoke on the no-trust motion, TRS Parliamentary Party leader Jitender Reddy took objection to part of the former's references to the bifurcation and said the division happened because all parties consented to it. Hence, the TDP cannot blame Telangana unduly, he argued.
