New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu called on Congress president Rahul Gandhi and is said to have invited the latter for the final meeting of Dharma Porata Deeksha to be held at Amaravati in February.
This meeting will be converted into a second mega rally after the United India Rally that was organised by Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata recently where leaders of 23 parties participated.
Naidu is also understood to have discussed the need to hold more such rallies in various parts of the country ahead of the notification for the general election.
Earlier, Naidu took time off to deliver his message to the economists and administrators, who had gathered at Davos, on achieving planetary scale impacts through natural farming.
In the process, Naidu announced setting up of a global knowledge centre on natural farming at Amaravati, which could be a leading centre in the world in promoting natural farming that would take on the climate change to the benefit of humanity.
He invited experts in the field to guide the his government in this endeavour for the benefit of humanity at large.
The zero budget natural farming (ZBNF), which is also known as organic farming, is slowly catching all over world, Naidu said and added that but in India, it is spreading fast due to the initiative taken by the AP government.
He said in India the organic farming registered the growth of 0.6 per cent while the world average is 0.5 per cent and the Asian average is only 0.3 per cent. But the Europe is ahead of everyone with 0.9 per cent, he pointed out.
The meeting was held at Davos to highlight the necessity of climate-friendly farming that the world needs to adopt and Naidu outlined comprehensively the plans to tackle climate change effectively with minimum impact on the human lives.
Naidu did not lose an opportunity to advise the world on the benefits of adaptation to the changed climate scenario of the world through his video conferencing call from the GMR airport here.
The dialogue has been facilitated by Satya Tripathi, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) at the World Economic Forum.
The centre would be an innovation hub in value chains in natural farming and in inspiring and innovating other States in India and in other countries too which look towards tackling the problem of climate change.
It may be mentioned here that Naidu could not go to Davos to attend the World Economic Forum in view of developing political situation in the state.
