Nizamabad Collect taxes without fear
District Collector Dr Yogitha Rana told the Municipal Commissioners that they should take appropriate steps and ensure that cent per cent taxes were collected in the district.

Addressing the municipal commissioners and other staff of Bodhan, Nizamabad and Armoor in a review meeting at the Pragathi Bhawan in the town on Tuesday, she told the municipal commissioners that they need not fear any one while collecting taxes and they have every right to punish the tax defaulters.
They just have to follow the guidelines fixed by the government while collecting taxes, she added. She said that the government would lose a lot of revenue if the municipal commissioners fail to discharge their duties effectively.
The District Collector said that it was not a new job for them and they were used to doing it every year. She said that the municipal commissioners should complete the work and submit a detailed report to the Collectorate by November 30.
She also held discussions with them on the status of Haritha Haram works, biometric system of attendance, drinking water problem, state of government and the schools in the district. She said that the biometric system should be introduced for the staff to record their attendance.
The Collector pulled up the officials for not giving details of the number of water tap connections provided to the individual households and the number of new tap connections that were required.
She also enquired from the officials about the geo-tagging of saplings that were planted in the district under the Haritha Haram programme.
Collector Rana also enquired from the officials about the toilet construction works that were in progress in the three municipal divisions of the district.
She said that women should not be inconvenienced due to the lack of adequate number of toilets.
DRDO project director Venkateshwarlu, Municipal commissioner Nageshwar and others were present on the occasion.
