Tirupati: YSR Congress Party district cadres and leaders welcomed senior politician Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy here at Renigunta airport on Wednesday. Peddireddy returned from Hyderabad after meeting with YS Jaganmohan Reddy, a week ago. Thousands of cadres felicitated him with mega garlands and brought him to PLR Convention Hall in a huge vehicle rally. YSRCP leaders and legislators of Tirupati, Palamaneru and Tamballapalle assembly constituencies Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, Amaranath Reddy, Praveen Kumar Reddy respectively, district YSRCP convener Narayana Swamy and many other leaders accompanied Peddireddy. Hundereds of cadres participated in the felicitation function organised by district committee and hailed Peddireddy's decision to join YSRCP. Later, addressing the gathering, Peddireddy said that he would lead a massive movement till Jagan becomes the chief minister. He appealed to all the cadres and people to extend their support for this relentless effort. Congress and TDP colluded with each other and it can be evident with the recently held cooperative elections and 'no confidence' motion, Peddireddy pointed out. He said that he was the first person to demand that Jagan should be made the chief minister soon after the demise of YS Rajasekhara Reddy and took pledge to resign for his minister's post if his wish didn't materialize. But, he had to continue in the post following the request of the then chief minister K Rosaiah, he added. "I could not adjust in the party where the leaders and others were criticising YSR even after being benefitted by him," he stated. Bhumana Karunakar Reddy expressed confidence of winning the next general elections despite conspiracies and secret pacts between Congress and Telugu Desam. Neither Kiran Kumar Reddy, Chandrababu Naidu nor Sonia Gandhi could stop the Jagan wave, he stressed. One can witness many political developments in Chittoor district with the entry of Peddireddy into the party, he felt. Amarnath Reddy and Praveen Kumar Reddy have also criticised both Congress and TDP for targeting YSR's family by blaming with corruption charges.
