Hip-hop British singer Mathangi Arulpragasam, widely known as ‘M.I.A’, was threatened by Paris Saint-Germain French football club regarding the purposely modified jersey she is wears in her music video called B.O.R.D.E.R.S.

In this video, MIA gives her own vision of the refugee’s crisis currently affecting Europe. But what upsets the Qatar-owned football club is the jersey she is wearing on which one can clearly recognize the PSG logo and notice a modification in the usual sponsor name: the slogan ‘Fly Emirates’ has been indeed changed to ‘Pirates’.

Paris Saint-Germain’s deputy chief executive Jean-Michel Blanc in his letter demanded the video to be removed from her music video. MIA twitted the whole letter on her official account and thus triggered immediate strong reactions including supports from her fans.

In 2014, MIA was sued by the U.S National Football League for extending her middle finger during Superbowl halftime show.
