KRUIC Netball Championship begins
Krishna University Inter Collegiate (KRUIC) Men’s Netball Championship began at Satavahana College in the city on Tuesday. The hosts Satavahana College management committee director Kommareddy Sridhar inaugurated the two-day tournament.

Speaking on the occasion Krishna University Sports Board Secretary Dr N Srinivasa Rao said that university has allotted Rs 50 lakhs for the development of sports and games. He claimed that no other university has allotted this amount of budget to promote sports and games.
Krishna University is the one and only university that is participating in all 36 disciplines in South Zone and All India Inter University tournaments, he recalled.
Srinivasa Rao informed that the University would conduct All India Inter University Men and Women Archery Championship at Machilipatnam from February 15 to 19. The university authority has been making all arrangement for conducting the prestigious tournament as successful, he added. Naearly, 1,500 archers and officials would attend the tournament, Srinivasa Rao explained.
Krishna University Physical Education Director’s Association president Dr N David said the college management committees were giving good cooperation for the tournaments, he added.
Satavahana College Principal Dr S Nageswara Sarma, Vice-principal Vasudeva Prasad, Netball association state secretary B Sivaram, organising committee secretary Dr B Sangeetha Rao and others participated.
The SRR, PB Siddhartha match was a draw
The two days Netball tournament is being conducted on a league basis. The first match was held between SRR and CVR Government Degree College and PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College was a draw. Both the teams have fought for the win and finally settled for a draw. In the second league match Satavahana College beat Vikas College of Physical Education, Nunna by 36-10.
