It goes without saying that for all the cold-shouldering by the Telangana Football Association (TFA), Hyderabad Globe Football Club (HGFC) continues to be in the forefront of promotion of the sport in the Od City, much like what Shastri Soccer Club (SSC) has deen doing at Trimulgherry Village Ground, all these years.

Right now, the coaches and administrators of Hyderabad Globe FC are overly busy in fine-tuning the skills of budding players from the vicinity at the home base Khurshidjah Playground in Hussaini Alam. The summer camp has been a major draw, as it does every year. More than 150 players of varying age-groups are turning up prompt by 6.15am to get trained by qualified coaches, and former national players. Most of them are licensed coaches of AIFF.

According to AIFF licensed chief coach, Syed Sadi, a former footballer, his team consists of passionate coaches like MA Salam, Habib Obaid, MAQayyum, Almdar and Digamber Rao. The club has an all-year training in that 25-30 of the most promising summer trainees will be absorbed into the professionally-manned Hyderabad Globe Football Academy that also operates at Khurshidjah Playground. It is this continuous monitoring that has helped the club to churn out quality players at regular intervals.

A reason for this is that the short-listed players get advanced training so as to make them battle-ready. For the records, HGFC has an impressive track-record in tournaments it has participated in other States. Meanwhile, the club is all set to unveil yet anotther edition of the Little Stars (Under-13) tournament that begins on May 22. A year-long action is what keeps Sadi and his team busy both in scouting for talent and also making them players of merit.
