The five matches of One-Day series between India A and New Zealand A teams will begin at Dr YSR Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDDA stadium in Vizag city on October 6 (Friday).
Shreyas Iyer will lead India A in the first three one-dayers, while Rishabh Pant will be the captain for the concluding two games in the five-match series.
``We will win one-day matches against the tourists in Vizag as our team is in good shape and performed excellently against South Africa A and the recent four-day matches against New Zealand A,’’ said India A team captain Shreyas Iyer.
``We didn’t get a chance to practice on Thursday due to the heavy rain but we are expecting that Vizag pitch would be a batting beauty and will be a run-feast, ‘’ he added. Expressing confidence that his team will do well, Shreyas Iyer said that everyone has played in different formats of the game and all are enjoying what they are doing.
New Zealand A team skipper Henry Nicholls said that New Zealand will give tough fight to India in the one-day series. ``We are hoping to beat a better one-day side as we feel we are a strong competitive side,’’ he added. The team has slowly adjusting to the humid weather in India and looking forward to a tough one-day series, he said.
