Adding to the significance is that the series is evenly poised at 1-1. A cliff-hanger of a decider is expected to happen.

By evening a fear gained ground that rains may play spoilsport to the grandiose plans of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and the excitement of the fans.

Weather forecast indicated light to moderate rain on Friday, particularly after Thursday night showers brought things to a grinding halt. Covers were brought soon after the first drizzle.

HCA officials insisted that they are geared up to reduce the impact of rain, thanks to the facilities that have. Curator YL Chandrasekhar said the recent rain has not affected the wicket. However, the outfield was affected a bit and fans are being used to dry the affected area and make the pitch match-ready.
