The Inter-departmental Invitational Hockey Tournament-2018, organised by Cocanada Coastal Sports Club that began with a clash between State Bank of India (SBI) and Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) at Gymkhana hockey ground here on Saturday was a watchable affair. Seasoned campaigners and battle-scarred veterans tried their best to outsmart the opponents at their own game, least mindful of the wet ground condition.
However, at the end of the day, it was VPT that trounced the bank outfit 4-1. In the other match, Income Tax defeated AP Police 1-0. Earlier, the event was inaugurated by S Venkateswarlu, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax-1 in the presence of D Komali Krishna, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, KVN Charya, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax-7, triple Olympian N Mukesh Kumar and Organising Secretary Ravi Chandra Prasad.
