The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has urged the citizens to register their grievances using social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.

Hyderabad : The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has urged the citizens to register their grievances using social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.

With 50,000 followers on Twitter and 43,757 followers on Facebook, GHMC is on the top in the country among all municipalities in using Social Media. The GHMC has joined the Twitter in October 2015 and using it very actively. The corporation has also created a WhatsApp group exclusively for Twitter grievances which is named as “Twitter Grievances” with all the HoDs, Zonal Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Executive Engineers, Assistant Medical & Health Officers, Deputy Directors of Urban Biodiversity, Assistant Directors of Veterinary Section and other officials.

So far, the GHMC had 2,834 Tweets. GHMC Mayor Dr. Bonthu Rammohan's Twitter account @bonthurammohan is having 19,581 followers. Deputy Mayor’s twitter account @babafasiuddin is having 7,419 followers while the GHMC Commissioner @CommissionrGHMC is having 23,088 followers. GHMC is top in the country among all municipalities in using Twitter.
