Technology news site CRN separately reported that Cisco is laying off about 14,000 employees, representing nearly 20 percent of the network equipment maker\'s global workforce.

NEW DELHI: Cisco's director - systems engineering for Service Provider, India and SAARC, Lalit S Chowdhary, has quit the company after a stint of five years, Business Line reported. Based in Gurugram, Chowdhary was responsible for providing technology leadership across architectures and business verticals.

The report said that two other executives quit Cisco last month. Jaswant Boyat, Technical Director heading Systems Engineering for Service Provider, India & SAARC, quit Cisco in July to join Huawei Technologies as Director — IP Network Solution Sales, effective August 1, 2016.

Joydeep Bose, Managing Director, Cisco Investments in Asia Pacific Japan, also quit last month to become a VC.

ET earlier reported that Cisco's managing director of sales for India and SAARC region, Purushottam Kaushik, left the networking major after a stint of seven years.
