Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's farm house in Erravelli in Medak district has been adept with the preparations for the Ayutha Maha Chandi Yagam that has commenced today and would continue till December 27.

The mega ritual 'Ayutha Chandi Yagam' is being conducted by KCR and performed by 1,500 Ritwiks with 101 yagam platforms arranged at the place of Yagam. Vedas, 10,000 Sapthashathi paranaya and Chandiyaga vakshari will be recited by 11 priests at every sacred fire altar.
The ritual that is to be conducted for five days is expecting up to 50,000 guests including President Pranab Mukherjee and chief ministers of the neighbouring states. It is learnt that KCR has spent Rs. 7 crore on the religious ceremony. Over thousand priests accompanied KCR and his wife Shoba in the participation of the Yagam.

While Telangana ministers KTR and Harish Rao along with Nizamabad MP K Kavitha attended the holy ritual, Governor ESL Narasimhan along with his wife too participated in the Ayutha Chandi Yagam. Tamil Nadu Governor Rosaiah and Maharashtra Governor Vidya Sagar would be attending the Yagam on December 25, 26 while President Pranab Mukherji and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will attend the Yagam on December 27.

Heavy security has been arranged at the venue with CCTV cameras surrounding five kms radius of the site and 3,000 policemen deployed for the ceremony.
