Man kills wife
An alleged alcoholic killed his 33-year-old housewife suspecting her fidelity by smashing her head and face with a hammer on Sunday midnight at Saidabad. According to the Saidabad police, P Venkatesh (37), a native of Nalgonda district, was working as a stonecutter, while his wife P Kalpana (33) was a housewife. The couple have three school-going children.

According to the Saidabad police, P Venkatesh (37), a native of Nalgonda district, was working as a stonecutter, while his wife P Kalpana (33) was a housewife. The couple have three school-going children.
The couple had migrated to the city few years ago and were living in Chintal Basthi, while Venkatesh’s parents were living next to theirs. The couple had been leading peaceful life, but disputes arose about three years ago after Venkatesh became addicted to alcohol, the police said. At about 11.30 p.m. on Sunday, Venkatesh came home heavily drunk and picked up an argument with Kalpana.
After sometime, when the three-year-old daughter Srinidhi did not stop crying, neighbours peeped into the house and found Kalpana lying in a pool of blood, the police said. A case has been registered against Venkatesh based on the complaint lodged by Kalpana’s brother Mahesh and investigation is still on, the Inspector added.
