Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday participated in the customary Iftar dinner hosted by the government at Nizam College grounds where he assured that 12 percent reservations would certainly be given to the Muslims at any cost.

The Chief Minister stated that a committee appointed to review the social and economic conditions of Muslims would be submitting a report following which the government will convene a session of the Assembly to pass a Bill on the issue.

Asserting that he won't go back on his word, KCR said that the state government with the consent of all parties would give 12 percent reservations to Muslims adding that he is sure that it will also be approved by the Centre.

He added that during Ramzan this year, the government is inaugurating 120 residential schools exclusively for Muslim students at a cost of Rs 390 crore. Stating that the government hosted Iftar dinner in 200 Masjids where which lakhs of Muslims participated, KCR also expressed happiness over the peaceful cohabitation of Hindus and Muslims in the state.
