Mallannasagar farmers plea rejected by High Court

While Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had reassured the farmers of Medak district that they would be given compensation through the Land Acquisition Act 2013 or Go 123 regarding the Mallannasagar project land acquisition, the Hyderabad High Court on Monday struck down the case of 12 farmers on the issue.

The farmers had appealed to the High Court against the land acquisition process of the state government.

However, Advocate-General Ramakrishna Reddy informed the Court that the land acquisition would be done as per the law. He also stated that the land acquisition would take place with the consent of the farmers and not forced, hence the farmers had nothing to be anxious about. The High Court, after hearing the arguments on the issue, struck down the farmers' petition.
