TRS Govt committed to uplift of Muslims: Speaker
Madhusudhana Chari, Telangana Assembly speaker, who took part in various developmental programmes and laid foundation stones at Kollapur in Mahabubnagar on Monday, said that the state government is committed to the upliftment of the poor Muslims in the state.

While inaugurating the Muslim Minority Welfare Bhavan, constructed with a cost of Rs 35 lakhs in Kollapur, the speaker said, “Muslim minorities have been facing various problems in the state. As part of the government’s initiative to uplift the Muslims,
we have taken up various welfare schemes like Shaadi Mubarak, pensions and distribution of free clothes to the poor Muslims on the occasion of Ramzan celebrations. We have also decided to hold Iftar parties for the Muslims in every constituency in the district. This apart, to uplift the minorities we have also begun eight minority English medium schools across the district,” said the speaker.
Later, the speaker, along with Jupally Krishna Rao, Minister for Panchayatraj and Rural Development took part in the inauguration of Kasturiba Gandhi Girls’ Vidyalam in Kollapur. The duo also took part in laying of foundation stone for Degree College which is set to be constructed with an estimated Rs 2.25 crores.
While talking on the occasion, “This government is giving the highest priority for education. We are preparing ground to provide free education from KG to PG. During the past two years we have brought in many changes in the education system.
Very soon, we will also launch the ‘free KG to PG’ education system. As part of this, we are setting everything in place and establishing education infrastructure facilities like Kasturiba Gandhi vidyalays for girls, English medium schools for Muslim minorities and establishing degree and PG colleges in every constituency,” said the speaker.
Talking to the students at the Kasturiba Gandhi Vidyalalya, the speaker said that they did not have many facilities as the students of this day and had to struggle hard. In an another programme, Jupally Krishna Rao, took part in the oath-taking ceremony of Market committee at Kollapur and said the committee members apart from supervising the crop sales in the market must also focus on proper management of the godowns.
At present, the market yard at Kollapur has a storage capacity of 5,000 metric tons. “All farmers must utilise the market for their sales. They should focus on choosing more profit-making crops rather than giving for routine crops,” advised the Minister.
