Mahbubnagar: To mark the successful culmination of the Krishna Pushkaralu, District Collector Dr TK Sridevi on Tuesday inaugurated a statue of ‘Krishnaveni Mata’ at the Collector’s camp office here n Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector thanked the people and officials of the district for making the Pushkaralu a great success and asked the officials to take forward the same spirit of coordination and cooperation for the development of Mahbubnagar.
“During the past 12 days, over 1.65 crore people have taken a holy dip at various ghats in the district. The event which was taken up on a prestigious note had concluded successfully, thanks to all those who have given their best in making this event a big success,” she said.
On Tuesday, the 12th day of the Krishna Pushkaralu, the devotees thronged all the ghats and the police and the revenue officials took all the measures to ensure safe, secure and healthy pilgrimage for the devotees. Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, who took a holy dip at Rangapur ghat praised the State government and said after formation of Telangana the Krishna Pushkaralu were taken up on a prestigious note and based on the experiences of Godavari Pushkaralu, the government initiated the development works at the Ghats six months in advance.
“The government had sanctioned Rs 860 crore for the construction of ghats, providing drinking water and other amenities for the devotees at the Krishna ghats. We thank the Collector, the district officials of all departments, the police and the people for making this event a big success without any untoward incident,” Niranjan Reddy said.
