The objective of this scheme is to provide affordable and hygienic food in hot condition to all walks of people. So far 50  Centres are being run successfully – providing 13000 meals a day. Food consists 450 grams of rice, 100 grams of Dal, Sambar and Pickle.  

Rs. 5/- Meal Scheme:

Strategic Road Development Project (SRDP):

The objective of this project is to make Hyderabad a world class city by providing conflict-free corridors for free movement of traffic, with an estimated cost of Rs.20,760 crores. This project plans for 5 skyways, 11 Major Corridors, 68 Major roads, 1400Km long roads, and 54 flyovers.

White Topping of Roads:

The concept of “composite paver” was introduced for the first time in the State in the month of July 2015. As a pilot project, 1 km stretch from City Central Mall to Zohranagar in Banjara Hills was taken up for white topping. It is proposed to take up 400 Kms., of white topping in City within next one year.

Swachh Hyderabad:

The city is generating about 4000 MTs of garbage daily. With the existing machinery and manpower, the Corporation is able to lift about 3000 MTs of garbage. Swachh Hyderabad Programme was conducted from 16th -20th, May 2015 and Rs.200 crore worth of civic infrastructure works, were identified during the campaign. some of the important achievements under the Scheme include:

(i) 2000 Auto Tippers are proposed to distribute to improve waste collection mechanism. 1572 have been distributed and the rest will be distributed by March 2016.

(ii) 44 lakh two coloured dust bins are being procured for the distribution to all the 22 lakh households in the city at free of cost, of which 33.86 lakh bins have been distributed so far and the balance 10.14 lakh households will be covered by the end of March 2016.

(iii) 11 MW Waste to Power unit is getting ready for operationalisation at Bibi Nagar, which will utilize about 1100 MT garbage per day.

Toilets:

For the public convenience, it is proposed to construct 200 public toilets all over the GHMC limits. The primary objective is to control public urination and maintain hygiene conditions in public places. Presently 100 public toilets are being constructed.

Driver cum Owners (DCO) Program:

The objective of “Driver Cum Owner” program is to provide an opportunity to the individuals who are in the field of driving, to become proud owners' of the vehicle. GHMC will facilitate Bank Loan, delivery and engaging of vehicles. So far 408 persons have been benefited under this scheme.

The government also has taken initiatives for development of Model Markets, Multipurpose Halls, Development of Graveyards, and Development of Lakes.
