Hyderabad: The Telangana Joint Action Committee has decided to work towards forming a political party which could be an alternative to the ruling TRS.

This decision is learnt to have been taken at the meeting of the core team of the TJAC consisting of presidents from all the 10 districts of the state.

The meeting was held under utmost secrecy in a farm house near Keesara on Thursday away from media glare. In fact, the members of the core team were asked even to keep their mobile phones switched off.

The 6-hour long meeting, according to sources, has come to an understanding that the state government had failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people. As a consequence, discontent has been brewing among the people.

Hence the JAC is learnt to have felt that it should mobilise people and counter the TRS. It is also understood that the core team felt that the opposition parties in the state had failed to take on the government.

The TRS government has been suppressing the opposition as well as the voice of the people. Citing the example of the agitation that has been going on against land acquisition for Mallannasagar project for over 50 days, the TJAC felt that the government had imposed Section 144 to suppress the agitation and terrorise people.

However, the modalities of the political party are yet to be worked out. The proposal made by Yogendra Yadav of Swaraj Abhiyan to join hands with TJAC is also said to have been discussed at the meeting. But the TJAC sources seem to be inclined to float a new political party.

It may be mentioned here that The Hans India had earlier reported that Yogendra Yadav had met Prof Kondandaram in New Delhi and discussed with him about the possibility of TJAC and Swaraj Abhiyan joining hands to fight the TRS government.
