Hyderabad: Nizamabad MP and Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha said the traditional Bathukamma festival celebrations would be conducted from September 30. Launching Jagruthi App here at the Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, Kavitha called upon women to celebrate Bathukamma festival on a grand scale because the State was blessed with copious rainfall this year. She exhorted Telangana daughters to participate in Bathukamma festival and spread Telangana culture to the world. Stating that the State received record rainfall this year, Kavitha lashed out at the Opposition parties for politicising the Mid-Manair dam breach.

Condemning the Congress for politicising even rains too, Kavitha reminded that though the then government proposed Mid-Manair reservoir in 1992, it called for tenders in 2006. Asking who were in power from 2006 to 2014, Kavitha said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government completed major works in the last two years. “Loss was common whenever and wherever there were heavy rains. Instead of lending a helping hand to the people irrespective of their political affiliations, some jealous political parties are politicising even rains unashamedly,” she said.
