Khammam reeling under dengue fever
Khammam district is reeling under the dengue fever as within a span of a month, 21 people have succumbed to death. Ravinuthala village located about 30 km from the district headquarters is home to around 5,000 people in Bonakal mandal with the dengue onslaught affecting more than 70 villagers so far this season.

Another suspected dengue death was recorded on Friday with a woman named P Lakshmi succumbed to death while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Khammam.
The villagers reached out to the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka during his visit on Friday and demanded immediate actions from the government.
The kin of those who died blamed lack of regular sanitation drive in the village. Addressing the media, Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Ravinuthala and other villages in the mandal has been gravely affected due to dengue due to which several families are fleeing to other places .
