A district committee meeting was held here at Manchikanti Bhavan under the leadership of Erra Srikanth on Tuesday.

The meeting was started after observing two-minute silence by the leaders in memory of the late Cuban leader Fidel Castro, eminent historian Prof Javed Aleem and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

Attending as a chief guest, Nagaiah said many poor people across the country were facing severe problems due to ban on high-value currency notes in the country.

The eminent economist Amartya Sen and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh opined that India was going to witness economical crisis because of the decision of demonetisation taken by the Narendra Modi government.

He also said in the name of bringing back black money, the government had taken such a thought-less decision with which many poor people were dying of hunger.

He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was visiting foreign countries to handover the valuable lands of India to the multinational companies in the name of ‘Make in India’ campaign.

He also added that government was not in a mood take up problems of farming community. “Many farmers across the country are facing severe problems and committing suicides due to the thoughtless decisions taken by the government,” he opined.

Criticising the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Nagaiah said, “KCR came to the power on Telangana sentiment and did nothing to the people of Telangana in two-and-a-half years of his rule.

He promised jobs to the unemployed youth before going to elections, but failed to keep the
promise.”

“KCR is wasting money by investing it in unnecessary projects and schemes which are in anyway not useful to the common public and to the weaker sections of the society,” he added.

The State Executive members of the CPM party Pothineni Sudharshan Rao, Nunna Nageshwar Rao, Buggaveeti Sarala, Kalyanam Venkateshwar Rao, Battula Lenin and other leaders were present.
