Hyderabad: In a yet another big step towards achieving ‘Golden Telangana’ during the next 30-month rule, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is contemplating to announce at least a dozen new schemes for the welfare and development in the new year.

Most of the new schemes which are likely to be unveiled soon are aimed at the holistic development of backward classes, weaker sections, SC, ST and minorities.

According to the top officials in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Chief Advisor to the government Rajiv Sharma has been entrusted with the responsibility to analyse all the ongoing community based schemes and come up with a blue print for new schemes.

Buoyed by the successful implementation of supply of fine rice to government residential schools and the recent free distribution of fish seedlings for the benefit of fishermen community in the villages,

KCR instructed the officials to come out with schemes which would create greater positive impact on the living standards and livelihoods of such communities.

At present, nearly 100 welfare schemes, covering all BPL families, were under implementation by the various welfare departments in the state.

The top officials of the welfare departments have been asked to submit a status report on the implementation of the schemes in coordination with the chief advisor.

If need be some changes to these schemes will also be made for their effective implementation. If it feels that these schemes are not giving the desired results, it may even scrap them and replace them with new one.

The government feels that there is a need to streamline the self-employment schemes by BC, SC, ST and minority welfare departments.

There is a possibility that it may come up with new guidelines. The new schemes will be designed based on the data the government had collected during the Sakala Janula Survey on socio –economic status of each community in the Telangana state.

Officials said that there is a possibility that the quantum of budget allocation for the welfare schemes would be increased so that there would be no problem to implement the new schemes.
