Hanamkonda: The government must regularise the services of part-time lecturers, who are working under various departments of Kakatiya University, demanded the president of Osmania University Part-Time Lecturers Association (OUPLA), Dr B Someshwar in Hanamkonda on Tuesday.

He extended his support to the representatives of Kakatiya University Part-Time Lecturers Association (KUPLA), who have been on relay hunger strike since 21 days.

Speaking on the occasion he said the government is behaving stubbornly and not regularising the services of part-time lecturers, instead it is utilising their services by paying nominal salaries, that too irregularly.

Many part-time lecturers are feeding their family by taking private tuitions while discharging their duties at the universities, he pointed.

He demanded the government to regularise the part-time lecturers’ services working in universities for improving the educational standards.

OUPLA representatives Rambabu, K Govind, Bharati, J Uma, Dr Shailaja and others extended their support for the relay hunger strike of KUPLA representatives.

KUPLA president J Thirupathi Raj, members P Prabhakar, Dr Srikanth, and Dr Narendar were present along with others.
