In the survey done by the Union Railway Ministry, the Basar Railway Station was declares as a clean railway station in the South Central Railway region.
Basar, located in Nirmal district which has the pride of having the only second temple of Goddess Saraswathi ,the Goddess of education and learning, found a place in the recently released list of the clean Railway stations around the country in support of the initiative of Swachh Bharat campaign started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the year 2014.
From that time onwards, India has been transforming into a clean and tidy country. Thanks to the initiative, people are no longer throwing garbage or filth on the roads. They are being dumped in dump yards.

Plantation of saplings and enhancing the area of greenery were our key measures this year and I am happy to see the outcome in our favour.”
He said that the award given to our station was an honour to their entire district and expressed the hope of receiving many more of such awards in future.
