Hate crimes in USA: KCR writes to PM
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday requested the Union government to take up the issue of increasing hate crimes against Indians with the American government following the spate of attacks on Indian born NRIs in the USA, particularly from Telangana.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday requested the Union government to take up the issue of increasing hate crimes against Indians with the American government following the spate of attacks on Indian born NRIs in the USA, particularly from Telangana.
In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister drew his attention to the recent killing of Kuchibotla Srinivas from Hyderabad in Kansas State and M Vamsi Chander Reddy (Warangal) in California and said that these incidents have shaken the confidence of kith and kin of the youth from India working in the USA.
The Chief Minister said that the Indian Diaspora in the America is contributing immensely to the development of the US and India. He urged the Prime Minister to take up the matter with the US authorities at an appropriate level.
