Hailstorm leaves a trail of destruction in Nalgonda
Hailstorms with gusty winds damaged crops and office building at Yadadri and Nalgonda districts on Wednesday. Yadagirigutta, Rajapet, Turkapalli, Bommalaramaram and Bhongir mandals in Yadadri district and Munugodu and Chityal mandals in Nalgonda district were badly hit.
Nalgonda: Hailstorms with gusty winds damaged crops and office building at Yadadri and Nalgonda districts on Wednesday. Yadagirigutta, Rajapet, Turkapalli, Bommalaramaram and Bhongir mandals in Yadadri district and Munugodu and Chityal mandals in Nalgonda district were badly hit.
Roof of the office of the free meals distribution, located beside Bala Alayam on the hill shrine in Yadadri was damaged due to hailstorm, and an office employee, Jaganmohan, suffered head injuries. He was shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad for treatment. Farmers of paddy and mango of Tallavellemla of Chityal mandal, Basvapur of Bhongir and Yagagirigutta mandals mandals suffered huge loss due to hailstorm.In some places trees were uprooted and electric wires were snapped.
Officials of the Bhongir district informed that about 50 acres of paddy and 30 acres of mango gardens were damaged in the district. Meanwhile, cloudy atmosphere, showers at some parts of Nalgonda and Suryapet districts gave relief to the people suffering from scorching heat and humidity for the last 15 days.
