Warangal Urban: The stage is all set for ‘Pragati Nivedana Sabha’, a huge public meeting which has been planned by the TRS as part of its 16th foundation day celebrations.

While all roads lead to Prakashreddypeta, the place which has sentimental value for TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, the entire city wore festive look with huge flexiboards, flags and poster of TRS.

It may be mentioned here that on December 16, 2010, TRS had held a record making public meeting which become a milestone in the formation of separate Telangana.

This meeting is not just a celebration of the foundation day but assumes greater importance as the Chief Minister would not only present a progress report of what his government had done during last three years but will also explain in detail about the recent proposals announced in the State Assembly which are aimed at reviving the rural economy and are focused on development of each community.

In fact, party leaders feel that the Chief Minister will give a roadmap to the rank and file to face the next general elections. Asked if there was any indication of early polls, no leader is willing to comment.
Besides that, Chandrashekar Rao is also expected to make a few more announcements during his speech, according to Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and Irrigation Minister Harish Rao.

Now the CM plans to reach out to the people in the state from this venue, all important leaders, including ministers, MLAs, MLCs and district leaders have been working overtime to mobilise crowd for the meeting and make foolproof arrangements.

A massive dais has been built at 10-feet height to accommodate 500 leaders of the party. A separate seating arrangement is being made for farmers, the in-charge for the arrangements P Sudharshan Reddy told The Hans India.

After KCR announced Rs 8,000 per acre to farmers for two crops to buy fertilisers, farmers in large numbers from all districts are keen to attend the meeting as a mark of thanksgiving, Reddy said.

Numerous cutouts of the CM with height of 100, 60 and 40 feet are erected at 21 entry points to the meeting venue.

Huge LED screens have been set up at 20 junctions in the city, besides 60 screens and two scrolling screens at the meeting spot which will be illuminated with about 300 flood lighting towers. In view of the summer heat multi-nozzle mist blowers have been arranged in the meeting ground to beat the heat.

Minister Harish Rao, who inaugurated a medical camp at the venue on Wednesday, said 21 health camps and 12 ambulances will be available to meet any health emergency with 200 doctors and 400 para-medical staff. Over 20 lakh water sachets, 10 lakh buttermilk sachets will be distributed to people.

Commissioner of police G Sudheer Babu told The Hans India that 6,000 police personnel under the supervision of 14 IPS officers drawn from different places will be on bandobust duties. Nearly 80 CCTV cameras and 91 pickets are put in place to ensure law and order.
